1. Download the Ariela font from: http://www.israweb.co.il/hebrew/arielaiso.sit.hqx (an alternative is the NeText font from ftp://ftp.snunit.k12.il/pub/fonts/mac/ However, it displays the letter "tav" like the letter "chet" most of the time...) 2. Doubleclick the arielaiso.sit.hqx icon on your desktop. This will create a file called "Ariela ISO.fam" on your Desktop. 3. Drag that file onto your closed System Folder, which will result in it getting put in the Fonts folder in the System Folder (you should see a message telling you that). 4. Quit Internet Explorer and start it up again. 5. Open the "Preferences" in the "Edit" menu and click on "Language/Fonts" Where it says "Default Character set" select "Western (Mac)" Where it says "Proportional" select "Ariela ISO" Where it says "Monospace" select "Ariela ISO" Click on OK 6. Select "Western (Mac)" for "Character Set" in the "View" menu 7. Go to http://www.haaretz.co.il/ and it should work! Note that due to some META tags http://www.maariv.co.il/ works only with Netscape, not with Internet Explorer. Setting up Netscape to use the Hebrew fonts is basically the same as with Internet Explorer: 1. Open the "Preferences" in the "Edit" menu and click on "Fonts" Where it says "For the Encoding" select "User-Defined" Where it says "Variable Width Font" select "Ariela ISO" Where it says "Fixed Width Font" select "Ariela ISO" Click on OK 2. Select "User-Defined" for "Character Set" in the "View" menu
